Its the first reassuring thing he`s heard since he`s been at these camps. The doctor who he trusted to opperate on his foot. He felt as if that as long as he was in there , he was safe . They didnt have the luxery of saftey in those camps, so this to him was a rare, cherished thing .
"I`ve got more faith in Hitler than in anyone else. He`s the only one who`s kept his promises, all his promises, to the jewish people." (Wiesel 87)
He`s trying to say that no one has helped, or kept their word about what would happen to them, except Hitler. Thats a sad thing. That the only promises kept to them were the ones speaking of their death and destruction. He`s saying that if they should have faith in anyone it should be the one who`s kept his promises, no matter what those promises were.

Quote Analysis
1. “I wanted to run away, but my legs were glued to the ground. Idek seized me by the throat” (Wiesel 64).
Its showing his true traits, that he was too scared or tired to care. That he wanted to do something but couldnt . And he was powerless to whatever was holding him to that spot.
2. "She`s mad, poor soul..." (Wiesel 34)
Its trying to say what she`s seen, or heard. The things people went through gave them nightmares, and it shows how it can change someone so much.
